Harry and Meghan’s Anniversary Took a Different Turn Behind Palace Walls
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle marked their eighth anniversary with intimate never-seen-before wedding snaps from their nuptials, but for many royal watchers, the biggest talking point was what appeared to be missing.
As many speculate if Harry and the royal family are finally busy mending their relationship, Rob Shuter's Substack reports that no senior royals privately or publicly acknowledged the anniversary. And this quickly shifted attention away from the photos themselves.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared some unseen photographs from their 2018 wedding on their eighth wedding anniversary. In particular, fans loved the pics of their wedding reception because details had been kept very private until Meghan finally shared some snaps.
Meghan's Instagram posts showed she and Harry embracing, laughing together, and even a few dips and twirls on the dance floor.
However, palace insiders reportedly claim that there was "no phone call, no private message, no peace offering — absolutely nothing.”
“The silence was very intentional,” one source apparently said.

Besides two separate Instagram posts dedicated to unseen photos from her wedding, Meghan also posted some touching footage on her Instagram Stories.
Archie and Lilibet's mother shared a video of Harry carrying a lemon elderflower cake into the room while singing to her with the help of their children. The table was decked out in cards, and a bronze penguin statue — a reference to the penguin onesies the couple famously wore during their engagement era.
But some celebrity watchers noticed that the tribute, while celebrating their life and their family now, avoided any connection to the wider royal family.
“That omission did not go unnoticed,” one source said. “The photos focused entirely on Harry and Meghan. It was like the royals had been erased from the story.”
The timing of the Instagram posts also drew attention because of the ongoing rumors about what some call the “Project Thaw” effort — where Harry is apparently trying to make peace with King Charles and Prince William after years of a rift between them.

When Harry and Meghan quit the royals and the duties that came with the titles, they found themselves on the outskirts of the family.
Their relationship went from bad to worse when the public talked negatively about the royal family during interviews, and Harry's memoir Spare held nothing back about his experience as King Charles' second son.
Recently, however, there has been rumors that Harry has been reaching out to reconcile with his dad and his brother. Speculations were especially after the news that king was diagnosed with cancer and Harry's recent trips to the UK.
But palace insiders are not convinced that Harry really wants peace.
Harry keeps sending signals through the media about reconciliation,” they said. “But many inside the family think this is more about winning the PR narrative than genuinely rebuilding trust.”
“There’s still enormous hurt, anger, and suspicion,” the source added. “Moments like this don’t heal the divide — they expose how wide it still is.”
