Halloween in New York: The Ultimate Party Guide

Halloween in New York has always been a spectacle — part fashion week, part fever dream. For Yuval Eder and his team at NYC Party Guide, who have curated some of the city’s most sought-after nightlife experiences, this year is about quality over quantity. “We took a little smaller approach this year,” Bar-Shany explains. “For Halloween, we wanted to do something more intimate, more upscale, and less commercial.”

That decision led to two hauntingly stylish events: Halloween Weekend at Two Fifteen, the sleek lounge inside PUBLIC Hotel, and Masquerade of Shadows at Maison Nur, a new downtown venue already generating buzz among nightlife insiders.

Two Fifteen at PUBLIC: A Haunted Hideaway in the Sky

Perched within Ian Schrager’s PUBLIC Hotel at 215 Chrystie Street, Two Fifteen is a place that feels both secret and cinematic. By day, it’s known for its sophisticated clientele and handcrafted cocktails; by Halloween weekend, it transforms into something far more mischievous.

From 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. on Friday, October 31, and Saturday, November 1, the lounge will become a haunted hideaway — dimly lit, with music pulsing through a room filled with masked faces, couture costumes, and the scent of top-shelf tequila and tobacco. Guest DJs will create an “electrifying Halloween vibe that lasts well into the early hours,” according to the event listing. Tickets start at $32, with entry reserved for guests 21 and over.

For Bar-Shany, the choice was deliberate. “Two Fifteen is cozy, refined, and exactly the kind of atmosphere people crave when they want something more sophisticated than a megaclub,” he says. “It’s not about volume—it’s about vibe.”

With a capacity of roughly 150 to 200 guests, the room offers an exclusive energy that feels worlds away from the sprawling Halloween festivals happening uptown. Inside, crystal glassware glints under low amber light while the city glows beyond the windows. “We didn’t want to go after the 800-person warehouse feel,” he explains. “We wanted something you could actually experience, not just survive.”

Maison Nur: The New Darling of Downtown

If Two Fifteen is the elegant ghost of Halloween past, Maison Nur is its decadent, modern twin. Located at 217 Bowery, the newly opened two-level venue has already been called one of the city’s most beautifully designed nightlife spaces—a fusion of Parisian chic and New York grit. “For me personally, it’s the most beautifully curated space I’ve seen in New York in a long time,” says Bar-Shany. “It’s two floors: the upstairs is a restaurant with a Michelin-starred chef, and downstairs is a speakeasy-style nightclub. After dinner, the restaurant becomes a bar with a DJ, so the whole place turns into one big celebration.”

Maison Nur hosts two Halloween experiences: Masquerade of Shadows on Friday, October 31, and Phantom’s Hideaway on Saturday, November 1. Both start at 10 p.m., both are 21+, and both promise to draw one of the most fashion-forward crowds in the city.

“Costumes are definitely encouraged,” says Bar-Shany, “but this isn’t your typical costume party. It’s about style, confidence, and presence. People here come to make a statement.”

Masquerade of Shadows leans into theatricality: dark lighting, bold visuals, and a soundtrack that shifts between deep house and high-energy electronic sets. Phantom’s Hideaway is its counterpart—a night of immersive sound and light where the city’s creative class dances beneath a canopy of neon and shadow. “The crowd knows how to move through the night,” he says. “It’s not just a party—it’s a performance.”

A Very New York Halloween

Bar-Shany describes Halloween as “a very New York holiday,” distinct from the global glitter of New Year’s Eve. “New Year’s is the Big Apple moment—the tourists, Times Square, the ball drop,” he explains. “Halloween is for locals. It’s when New Yorkers really go out. Miami has its Halloween, Chicago has its own, but here—it’s something different. It’s pure New York.”

That local pulse is what The NY Party Guide captures so well. Each event feels carefully tuned to the city’s rhythms—exclusive but not elitist, stylish but not pretentious. These aren’t parties for everyone; they’re for those who love the night and understand its codes.

Bar-Shany adds, “We always evaluate every year, and we realized the real big moment for us is New Year’s Eve. But Halloween? It’s our chance to create smaller, more beautiful experiences that people remember.”

The strategy seems to be working. As tickets move fast, both venues promise the kind of nights that make New York feel like itself again—alive, mysterious, and just a little dangerous. Whether you’re sipping something smoky at Two Fifteen or losing yourself in the glow of Maison Nur, this Halloween isn’t about excess. It’s about elegance—with fangs.
