1. Omitted Joke on Melania Trump

Comedy writer for the event Madison Sinclair told Variety that a joke regarding First Lady Melania Trump and Hinchcliffe was omitted from the broadcast.

The joke referenced Hinchcliffe's remarks during a 2024 political rally.

The edited out joke, according to Sinclair, was, “Tony is like Melania: The only thing relevant about him is that he opened for Trump once.”

Notably, this comes weeks after Trump and Melania called for Jimmy Kimmel's ouster from ABC over a "widow" joke the late-night host made regarding the first lady.

2. Tony Hinchcliffe's George Floyd Joke

Hinchcliffe made a joke during the special referencing the death of George Floyd.

“The Black community is so proud of you… right now George Floyd is looking up at us all, laughing so hard he can’t breathe," Hinchcliffe said.

TMZ reported the joke received negative reactions from the public and Floyd's family.

Furthermore, activist Tamika Mallory addressed the joke in a post on Instagram.

"There is literally NOTHING funny about how George Floyd was murdered. Allowing that white man or any other man to stand up there and disrespect Us, while laughing, is disgusting," Mallory wrote.

"Somebody please tell our brother Kevin Hart some of us are deeply scarred by what happened to #GeorgeFloyd. It’s NEVER funny to us EVER!” she added.

3. Pete Davidson's Charlie Kirk Joke

Davidson made a joke referencing conservative political figure Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot during a university speaking event on September 10, 2025.

Referring to Hinchcliffe, Davidson said, "Tony reminds me of Charlie Kirk, in that he’s definitely been on camera letting a guy unload in his throat."

Social media users criticized Davidson's remarks. One user wrote, "It's crazy that we live in a timeline where it's acceptable to speak like this on an innocent man and people will be like 'aww don't be so sensitive, he is making a joke'. Actually no, he is joking but he is also serious at the same time. These people are glad that you're gone because they don't see you as human."
