‘They Kicked Me Off'': Ex-Beyoncé Dance Captain Alleges Mistreatment on Luxury Cruise, Flags Racial Bias
Ashley Everett, a former Beyoncé dance captain, has alleged that she was removed from the stage of a cruise ship while performing to the song Single Ladies.
Everett recalled her unpleasant experience with Virgin Voyages in several posts she shared on Threads.
The 37-year-old dancer took to the social media platform on Tuesday, April 21, and wrote, "I was kicked off the @virginvoyages club stage while dancing to the SINGLE LADIES song for the CONTENT CREATOR CRUISE I was INVITED ON — all because someone complained… They kicked me off.”
"I left — immediately after they let all the complaining white folks up on that same stage," she continued.
"FYI. I'm in the single ladies music video btw. I know they're not cause it's only three of us lol. Virgin — do better. Know and LEARN your crowd," she added.

Ashley Everett's Alleged Mistreatment a Result of Race and Appearance?
In a previous post, Everett, who was on a work trip for a brand, claimed that Virgin Voyages does not "acknowledge" Black creators.
“Virgin Voyages wants black creators and all their sauce — but doesn't acknowledge, highlight or actually know them..??? Weird," she said.
Everett suggested that the alleged treatment may have been motivated by her appearance.
"I also like to switch my hair styles especially while traveling to tropical places -- but sadly, I notice a drastic difference in how I'm treated, based on the styles I choose," she wrote, before sharing a picture of herself in cornrows.
She further expressed dissatisfaction at having spent her birthday on the cruise.
"Took a chance & rang my birthday in on a brand trip who I've since learned doesn't give a flying [expletive] about me. @virginvoyages," she stated.

"Alsooooo, @virginvoyages did NOTHIGN to try to make my birthday special yesterday… thank g*d for my friend @kimberlycherrell [heart hands emoji] I'm sadly very disappointed in them so far, and I still have two more days to go smh. They better not try to blacklist me either cause that would be even more obvious they hate me. LOL," Everett wrote in a separate post.
Everett, a veteran dancer, has spent over two decades performing alongside Beyoncé, appearing in multiple videos and joining several of the latter's biggest tours.
Most recently, she was part of the 2024 performance in Houston, when Beyoncé took the stage during the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans Christmas Day game.
A few days back, Virgin Voyages announced a major collaboration with TikTok, one of its largest creator activations to date.
According to The Grio, the three-night voyage sailed from Miami to Bimini in the Bahamas, bringing together more than 1,000 content creators, including Everett.
Held aboard the Scarlet Lady, the trip was designed as a fully immersive, creator-driven experience.
It marked the company's biggest activation yet, significantly scaling up from its previous sailings.
Virgin Voyages has not yet responded to Everett's claims, yet.
