'Dystopia Sales Pitcher': Elon Musk Faces Backlash Over Shocking 'Future of Medicine' Claims
During an interaction with Forbes Chief Content Officer Randall Lane at the Forbes Innovator 250 Celebration event that took place on May 18 at Hotel Nia in Menlo Park, California, tech mogul Elon Musk claimed that the future of medicine will completely be digital.
The billionaire told Lane that the future of medicine will be digital, with synthetic RNA programmed to rewrite how the human body functions, with it having the ability to cure almost anything.
Speaking at the event, Musk described medicine as working like software with the custom RNA strands, which are designed to reprogram the body from within.
He said, “The future of medicine will be digital. If you know what to program in that synthetic RNA strand, you can basically cure anything.”
David Icke Lashes out at Elon Musk
David Icke slams Elon Musk.
However, the Tesla CEO's comments garnered significant backlash on the internet, similar to some of his previous statements where he had put the advancement of technology and digitalization on a pedestal, citing them as the future solution for several issues plaguing civilization in the current times.
Author and public speaker David Icke took a jibe at Musk’s remarks about the future of medicine.
Icke called Musk the “chief public AI/Digital dystopia sales-pitcher” and accused him of allegedly attempting a complete physical and psychological control over humanity through human/AI/digital fusion.
Further, Icke alleged that Musk is trying to sell people a “vision of healthcare” when in reality, he is selling people the ultimate control system.
He even went on to accuse the SpaceX owner of being part of a “cult” that is allegedly envisioning to gain control over mankind through the AI/digital fusion.
'Humanity Isn’t Morally Ready for This'
Elon Musk's comments about the future of medicine.
Some social media users were also irked by Musk's statements.
One X user wrote, “Elon also says don’t bother saving for retirement because in 10 to 20 years, AI will supposedly make everything free - your house, healthcare, food, car, etc. I don’t know, just trusting the billionaires and the robots does not sound like a solid retirement strategy to me.”
Another user alleged that Musk’s Neuralink facilities conducts its tests on monkeys, which, if true, might come under the breach of animal testing.
The user stated, “Elon Musk’s Neuralink facilities test on hundreds (if not thousands) of animals, including monkeys. Why is no one looking into that? He’s a Dr Frankenstein only without the doctor’s credentials.”
One individual commented, “Prime example of talking at overhyped platitudes and not knowing what he is talking about. Musk peaked about four years ago and is just grifting now.”
“Humanity isn’t morally ready for this. It's not that the technology is bad, but the people who use the technology for malicious purposes,” stated another user.
