'Dozy Don': Trump Faces Online Mockery After Allegedly Falling 'Asleep' During Oval Office Meet

President Donald Trump appeared to close his eyes for an extended period during a televised health briefing in the Oval Office on Monday, May 11.

This is not the first time the president has appeared to doze off during a meeting, sparking concerns about his health.

He faced online scrutiny after pictures and videos of him from the event went viral on social media.

The briefing featured Dorothy Fink, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Women's Health, who presented data regarding reductions in maternal mortality rates.

Fink noted that Perinatal Improvement Collaborative hospitals reduced maternal mortality by 41.5 percent.

During Fink's presentation, video footage showed the president sitting with his eyes closed and his head slightly lowered for an extended duration.

Sharing a video clip form the event, one social media user wrote, “Trump fell asleep with his face drooping in the Oval Office during a meeting today. This is a real video that should concern every American. He’s not fit to serve.”

Another user stated, “Trump is about to hit REM sleep on camera in the Oval Office." An individual chimed in, “Trump appears to fall asleep while a doctor discusses maternal mortality."

One user commented, “Today is Monday. That means Trump falls asleep at yet another high profile event with cameras rolling.”

“Imagine what happens when there are no cameras," an individual wrote.

Another stated, “If any other POTUS was caught doing this, the American media would be howling for dismissal and replacement. It’s like the USA is caught in a dark enchantment.”

The barrage of comments directed at the president didn't stop there.

One social media user lashed out at Trump, stating, “Oh look, another “perfectly fit” moment from the guy who swears he is in the best shape of his life and sharper than ever. Face drooping, eyes shut, nodding off right there in the Oval Office during a televised meeting, again. You often fall asleep in these, Don. But sure, keep lying about how ‘unfit’ everyone else is while the whole world watches you catch some Z’s on the job. Sweet dreams, Dozy Don. The country deserves someone who can stay awake for more than 16 seconds.”

This comes amid Trump repeatedly claiming that he is in a great condition physically with all of his medical reports being “perfect.”

According to ABC News, in October 2025, the president revealed getting a MRI done as part of his “advanced imaging” tests at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

Speaking about the results, the president had told reporters aboard the Air Force One, “I got an MRI. It was perfect. I mean, I gave you the full results. We had an MRI and the machine, you know, the whole thing, and it was perfect."
