While President Donald Trump seemed quite content over his meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, he also used the opportunity to take a subtle dig at former President Joe Biden.

During an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity after a long meeting with Jinping, Trump said, "Joe Biden wouldn't even get a meeting with Xi [Jinping]."

Trump's comments have drawn significant backlash as Jinping and Biden have met multiple times in the past.

Their last official meeting took place in Lima, Peru, on November 16, 2024. It was a "farewell" meeting aimed to stabilize bilateral relations before the U.S. presidential transition.

Before that, in November 2023, Jinping visited the United States to meet with Biden.

The meeting took place at the Filoli Estate in Woodside, California, near San Francisco, as both leaders attended the APEC summit.

Hannity then said, "I don’t know if he’d be able to focus long enough."

Responding, Trump said, "He wouldn’t come here. But assuming he came, I don’t think he’d even have a meeting. It’s amazing actually, a lot of people... I noticed even with the business leaders. They’re the biggest businessmen in the world. And women... A couple of women... And most of them, almost all of them, but most of them never met President Xi."
