Donald Trump’s Fox News Call Takes Turn as Interview Is Suddenly Cut Short Mid-Answer
A television appearance by President Donald Trump turned into a a wide-ranging and rapid exchange on air. When he called into Fox News for Sunday Morning Futures, the discussion covered topics including geopolitical tensions, oil prices, and election claims.
According to Daily Beast, at one point, the shift in tone became apparent and host Maria Bartiromo begin to wrap up the segment while Trump was still speaking. “Mr. President we want to respect your time,” she said, interrupting the exchange.

She then moved quickly to wrap the segment, adding: “I know how busy you are this morning, and I know that we will have part two of this interview this week at the White House. So I want to thank you so much for calling in and breaking all of this news this morning, sir,”
“I will see you this upcoming week in the Oval Office, sir, for part two of our interview, when we discuss the broader issues and the impact on the economy…Thank you, Mr. President.” The interview then concluded, with a follow-up already lined up. But the moments leading up to that wrap-up had already raised eyebrows. When asked about whether oil and gas prices might drop ahead of the midterm elections, Trump’s response was noncommittal.
“I hope so, I mean, I think so. It could be, it could be or the same or maybe a little bit higher,” he said. The response was noted for its uncertainty, especially as prices remain closely tied to ongoing global tensions. The conversation then turned to a familiar subject. “Under Biden, who was an incompetent president, he was grossly incompetent,” Trump said. “Look, the election was rigged. You know that. I know that. Everybody knows that now, and it’s all come out and it’s coming out,”

Bartiromo appeared to respond briefly, saying, “yup.” The discussion also turned to a recent social media post that had already drawn attention. “Mr. President, you were criticized for this tweet because you said a whole civilization will die tonight. What do you want to say about that?” Bartiromo asked. “I’m fine with it,” Trump replied.
The interview packed multiple topics into a short span, with the conversation shifting quickly from one headline to the next. With a second part already scheduled, the exchange may not be over just yet, but this first segment has generated multiple moments likely to be revisited.
