President Donald Trump might be thinking about renaming the exclusive UFC event at the White House. The event is set to take place at the White House on the occasion of the 250th anniversary of the United States.
Trump reconsidered the event name after being impressed by a reporter's suggestion. He was so pleased with the name that he said he would propose the idea to Dana White.

Donald Trump wants to rename the UFC event at the White House.
During a press briefing (via X) outside the Oval Office, Donald Trump accepted a number of questions after receiving his McDonald’s delivery. A reporter asked him, “UFC typically numbers those fights consecutively, but should they label this one UFC 1776?”
Upon hearing the new name, he was impressed with the idea and said he would tell Dana White. He added, “I like that idea, actually.” He continued that he has been involved in a number of events, but none of them are comparable to the upcoming combat event that will seat 4,500 people. He described that there will be massive screens, which will allow over 100,000 viewers.
While Trump seemed delighted with the new, impromptu name that would take place in honor of the United States’ 250th anniversary of independence, it could face challenges. The event has been heavily promoted as UFC Freedom 250 for the last couple of weeks.
If Trump urges the UFC President to rename the event, it could be disastrous, creating confusion among fans. Additionally, it might not sit well with White and the UFC executives, given the planning and promotion that have been put into hosting the one-of-a-kind event.
The president’s comments about the potential renaming of the event dropped after he had recently attended UFC 327 at Kaseya Center in Miami. The crowd loved having him there as he attended the event with Dana White and his youngest daughter, Tiffany Trump, per The Daily Beast.

In a separate report by Fox News, a new bout was added in the exclusive event between Derrick Lewis and Josh Hokit. The CEO of UFC stated that Trump leaned over to him and asked, “Why is Derrick Lewis not on the White House card?” He was baffled by the suggestion, and he immediately stepped away, calling Lewis.
White told the MMA Fighter, “Derrick, the president just asked why you're not on the card. Do you want to fight on the White House card?” Without much thought, he agreed to appear at one of the most anticipated events of the U.S.’ 250th anniversary of independence.
