President Donald Trump claims he was not credited for Osama bin Laden’s death. During a press conference, the President blamed former President Barack Obama’s administration for overshadowing his due recognition for the work that was responsible for one of the most dangerous men in the world.

He discussed that he had urged Obama to take out bin Laden, nearly a year before the World Trade Center was blown up. Interestingly, he also claimed that he killed Qasem Soleimani, which rewrote the history of Iran, as the US would have been fighting them as well.

Trump claims that first predicted Osama bin Laden as a major threat.

On April 6, during a press conference (via YouTube), he discussed his actions from his first Presidential term, claiming that killing the “evil genius” Soleimani heavily affected Iran. He mentioned that the Iranian military officer had “never been replaced.” He added, “Had he lived, I believe we would be fighting a different Iran right now.”

Trump continued, “I also did another one, but this one was not picked up. Osama bin Laden. If you read my book, I said you gotta take him out, one year before the World Trade Center came down.” He urged the reporters to read his book and mentioned that to be a good president, one must have “good instincts.”

Interestingly, this was not the first time the President had gloated about this incident and had made such jarring claims in 2019 and 2025 as well. According to CNN, in his book, which was published in 2000, Trump claimed that he had warned the authorities to deal with bin Laden. However, the claim is false because it did not contain any warning against the terrorist.

The outlet stated the tale he claims was mentioned in the book was a “nonexistent warning” when it was revived in 2019. However, he proudly talked about it to the sailors during the 250th anniversary of the US Navy.

The report further stated that Trump said that there was a page in his book where he read about someone named Osama bin Laden, and he did not like it. He urged them to take care of him, but they did not do it, and in 2001, he was responsible for the 9/11 attacks at the WTC. “So, you gotta take a little credit, because nobody else is gonna give it to me,” he added.

Did Trump Predict bin Laden’s Attack on World Trade Center?

In the book, The America We Deserve, there was no single mention of either ‘watch out’ or ‘take care of’ Osama bin Laden, as per CNN. In fact, the book did not offer anything new about bin Laden. After all, it was well known by this time that he was a “well-known threat” to Americans.

The outlet mentioned the book’s single mention of him, where he was described as a “shadowy figure with no fixed address” and called him a “public enemy number one.” He was already targeted by former President Bill Clinton for the 1998 terror attacks on US embassies in Tanzania and Kenya.

The outlet stated that in the book, Trump did not predict that Osama bin Laden or any other personality would be responsible for the future attacks. He also acknowledged that it was a widespread belief among analysts about the attacks and not his insight.
