A Sweet Dog Rescued His 'Grandmother' After She Fell During Evening Walk
A Florida dog named Eeyore is being recognized as a hero the world over for saving his "grandmother" after she took a fall.
The Okaloosa Sheriff's Office shared footage from an officer's bodycam on social media, taken during the incident earlier this month — and Eeyore has since gone extra viral for being such a good boy.
"Some heroes wear collars!" the Sheriff's Office captioned the video. "When an elderly Shalimar woman was injured recently during a nightime [sic] walk of her son's dog, the pup initially refused to leave her side, but then went for help, leading a deputy right to her."
Bodycam footage showed Eeyore leading Deputy Devon Miller of Okaloosa to his grandmother after she fell during his walk.
In the video, the officer — Deputy Devon Miller — can be heard speaking with the 86-year-old woman's distressed husband, as he explains that his wife usually doesn't walk the dog for longer than 10 or 15 minutes and that she has been gone for about an hour at that point.
Deputy Miller then drives around the neighborhood, soon encountering Eeyore. The dog immediately approaches the police officer in her car, who asks him repeatedly, "Where's your Mama?"
Without hesitation, Eeyore leads Deputy Miller towards where the woman has taken a fall and the police officer is able to confirm that the woman is safe and conscious, though potentially hurt.

Eeyore kept close watch on his grandma after she fell.
The woman told the police officer, "He wouldn't leave. He kept coming back to me."
When Deputy Miller explained how Eeyore led her to his grandma, she said, "Aw, sweetheart!" She explained, "I'm not even his owner, I'm his grandmother."
This prompted the police officer to tell Eeyore how much of a good boy he is.
His grandma agreed, "Aw, Eeyore, you're a good boy. Grandma loves you."

Eeyore approached Deputy Miller's car to lead her to his grandma who had taken a fall.
The story tugged at heartstrings everywhere, with popular dog account We Rate Dogs sharing the sweet footage as well as several media outlets.
Even better, Eeyore was properly recognized for his heroic act by the Okaloosa Board of County Commissioners, alongside Deputy Miller.
The Board shared photos of the lovely moment on social media, along with the proclamation for the official moment.

Eeyore was recognized for his heroic act alongside Deputy Miller.
