Last month, after ICE Barbie Kristi Noem was fired from her post as DHS Secretary, Trump decided to keep the jet, and now, the same jet will be used by the members of the administration and Melania Trump. Ahead of the midterm elections, the jet will be used to travel across the country for election purposes. Melania will be a VIP traveler, and the jet features a bar, a queen-sized bedroom and showers. It’s not a regular jet and is now a property of the White House.
When the Department of Homeland Security purchased the plane, they informed everyone that it was bought for $70 million. But as per the new reports, the price of the plane is closer to $110 million. It’s an extra $40 million that no one was aware of. Critics are now calling out the Trump administration for hiding the real cost of the jet from the people.
As reported by The Daily Beast, the original cost of the plane stands at $108 million, which was confirmed by two senior officials. One of the officials criticised the wrong figures and said, “Not sure who is providing that information, but it is inaccurate. And even though the White House decided to buy the plane, it’s sticking the DHS with the tab.” Another official remarked, “The White House is essentially telling ICE: you didn’t have any say, but f— you, pony up the cash and hand over the keys.”

The White House and the DHS were reached by The Daily Beast; however, they haven’t commented on the matter as of now. When questioned by the government officials over why she needed the pricey jet for carrying people out of the country, Noem couldn’t give a proper answer.
Both Noem and her alleged lover, Corey Lewandowski, used the plane to stay in President Trump’s good books. At times, they also let the First Lady use the jet for personal use. Lewandowski and Noem believed that since they let Melania Trump use the jet, they were “bulletproof” and nobody would remove them from their jobs. However, later, both the former DHS head and political campaigner lost their jobs.
