Meghan Markle slammed over speculations of AI-generated speech.
'Deeply Ironic': 'Hypocrite' Meghan Markle Mocked Over Rumors Her Anti-AI Speech Was Written by ChatGPT
Meghan Markle’s recent Geneva event has fallen prey to a controversy. Rumors surrounding her reading an “AI-generated” speech at the occasion have started doing the rounds on social media.
This garnered more flak because her speech ironically spoke about the harmful effects of ever-growing technology and AI on children.
Markle was seen in Geneva, Switzerland, on Sunday, May 17, sans her husband, Prince Harry.
She was present there to unveil the Lost Screen Memorial along with World Health Organization director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
The installation paid homage to the children who tragically passed away due to alleged online bullying and digital abuse.
Donning a black Giorgio Armani suit, she delivered a speech on the negative effects of AI and social media on young minds.
'The Wording Felt Unusually Polished'
Meghan Markle faces criticism over her recent Geneva speech.
Some social media users alleged that the Duchess of Sussex’s speech at the occasion sounded AI-generated and entirely penned by ChatGPT, as videos of her speech began circulating on social media.
One X user wrote, “Writer here. The speech sounded as if ChatGPT wrote it.”
Another user stated, “There is no way that the hypocrite wrote it herself when she was posting her child the night before for attention.”
Some critics also claimed that they had analyzed portions of her speech using AI detection software and language analysis tools, alleging that those portions seemed to be AI-generated.
An insider familiar with the situation told RadarOnline, “There's been a flood of commentary on forums from people insisting they ran parts of Meghan's address through AI detection systems like ChatGPT analyzers and other large language model tools because the wording felt unusually polished, repetitive, and rhythmically structured. Some critics are convinced it carried the hallmarks of AI-assisted drafting, whether that came directly from Meghan herself or from advisers helping craft the speech."
Meghan Markle's Geneva Event Under Scrutiny

The source further said that social media users might find it ironic that the alleged AI-generated speech is talking about the harmful effects of AI technology and social media.
As a result, if the speech is indeed generated through ChatGPT, it contradicts its very core message.
The insider added, “What many people find deeply ironic is that the entire appearance centerd on warning about the dangers of rapidly evolving technology and artificial intelligence potentially harming society, while critics are now accusing the speech itself of sounding algorithmically generated. Fairly or unfairly, that contradiction has become a major talking point online."
Markle’s speech also focused on children being extremely vulnerable to “harmful” digital content.
The As Ever founder said, “Children today are being shaped by systems designed to capture attention at any cost: relentless algorithms, exploitative engagement, and endless exposure to harmful content that they are not seeking out."
Apart from the AI speculations, the duchess’s Geneva event also ignited other controversies on the internet.
Some social media users alleged that it was hypocritical of her to talk about children’s exposure to social media when she herself is known to share some pictures and videos of her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, on her Instagram handle occasionally.
Some also mocked the turnout of the event, pointing out the underwhelming number of people who had turned up to witness Markle.
The internet connected this to her alleged diminishing popularity amongst the masses.
