'Daddy Was the First to Hold You': Erika Kirk Pays Emotional Tribute to Charlie Kirk on Their Son's Second Birthday

Eight months after the death of conservative political activist Charlie Kirk, his family is keeping his memory alive in a heartfelt way.

His widow, Erika Kirk, shared an emotional video on the occasion of their son’s second birthday. The video featured special moments Charlie shared with his children.

It showcased family memories filled with love, laughter and warmth.

In addition, the 37-year-old also shared a heartfelt message for her son, expressing how much his father adored him.

Therein, along with a touching video of her late husband Charlie, the 37-year-old also shared wishes and blessings for her son.

“May 14, 2024, 7:47AM daddy was the first to hold you. Together, we spoke over you all the prayers and blessings for your future,” she wrote.

“I can’t help but rewatch these videos, endlessly, and I know as you grow up, you’ll be the same way. There’s moments I wish I could step back into,” Erika added.

Erika continued, “Especially the moments of your “firsts” that daddy was alive to witness. You’re forever our little love. Our little peacemaker.”

She said that she hopes to watch him become a “trailblazer for the truth, for goodness, for patience, for joy, and for faithfulness, with the presence of the Holy Spirit."

She concluded, “Happy 2nd Birthday sweet boy. You heal my broken heart in ways I’ll never be able to articulate.”

The post quickly drew emotional reactions online, with people sharing prayers and support for Erika and her son.

“May G-d bless your son, may He watch over him and keep him," one user wrote.

Another added, "There just aren’t words for this video. I’m so sorry he was stolen from you and your babies.”

Charlie, the right-wing activist, was fatally shot on September 10, 2025, during one of his signature Prove Me Wrong sessions at Utah Valley University.

Just a year before his death, the Kirks welcomed their son, in May 2024, while previously being parents to their daughter, who was born in August 2022.

So far, Erika has refrained from disclosing the names and identities of her kids.

Meanwhile, following Charlie's death, Erika revealed that she was "praying" she was pregnant, as the couple had once dreamt of having four children.

Appearing on The Megyn Kelly Show, the 37-year-old opened up about the same.

“We wanted to have four. And I was praying to G-d that I was pregnant when he got murdered. I was like, 'Oh goodness, that would be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe,'” Erika stated.

However, they only had two children.

Following Charlie's assassination, Erika became the CEO of Turning Point USA.
