Eric Trump's recent appearance on Fox Business to discuss a $24 million Pentagon contract secured by a company he is affiliated to drew criticism from Democratic lawmakers and netizens alike, who raised concerns about conflicts of interest involving the Trump family.
The contract was awarded to Foundation Future Industries for its Phantom humanoid robots, designed to operate in combat environments.
This comes in the wake of his father, President Donald Trump, extending the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran.
'America’s Edge on the Battlefield'
Eric Trump announces that Foundation Future Industries secured a $24 million deal with the Pentagon.
During a recent episode of Fox Business’ Mornings with Maria, host Maria Bartiromo congratulated Eric for securing the multimillion-dollar Pentagon contract.
The contract reportedly permits the company to test “heavy-duty humanoid robots.”
Eric and Foundation Future Industries Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sankaet Pathak said that the technology would be “America’s edge on the battlefield” and give the United States an advantage in military robotics over China.
Eric said, “We are America First. We have to win this race. The uses are unlimited, and I think it's a very beautiful thing, but we must win this race.”
"You cannot build a utopia and then not defend it. That just doesn't make any sense. There are a lot of people who want to destroy what exists in America," Pathak said.
He claimed that China has been developing similar technology in both land and air-based robotics systems.
Likewise, Eric noted that he decided to invest in the company and the Phantom robot because the United States needed to surpass China in this regard.
Reports suggest that the Phantom MK1 incorporates decades of "research and innovation in humanoid robotics," and is "designed for strength and fluid motion" to allow "seamless integration into human environments."
'The Most Corrupt First Family of All Time'
Several Democratic lawmakers questioned the contract and slammed Eric on social media.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren wrote, “Eric Trump went on FOX to brag about winning ANOTHER multimillion-dollar contract from the Trump administration. I've been sounding the alarm and pushing for answers. Is the Pentagon just a cash machine for Trump’s kids now? This looks like corruption in plain sight.”
Rep. Ilhan Omar posted on X, “You can’t make this stuff up. The most corrupt first family of all time.”
“For your family the war in Iran means paying more. For Trump’s family the war in Iran means making more.” Ruben Gallego stated.
Rep. Shontel Brown claimed, “The Trump Family gets rich off of Trump’s war. Working people get higher prices.”
“Bragging about corruption openly. That’s where the Trump family is at now, at this point. A political reckoning will be coming soon. It’s only a matter of time,” wrote Rep. Darren Soto.
