It took only one year for Caitlyn Jenner and late Sophia Hutchins' friendship to turn ugly. The former has made an outrageous claim, stating that Hutchins owed her nearly half a million dollars. She shared several documents, showcasing proof of credit card charges, some unpaid expenses before her untimely demise, and more.
Jenner will not let her friendship with her deceased friend get in the way of recovering the money that her late friend owed her. The I am Cait actress had made a claim in 2025 for the expenses, and it will all be reimbursed.
Sophia Hutchins’ Unpaid Expenses to Caitlyn Jenner
In 2025, Sophia Hutchins had a tragic accident, where her ATV crashed near Caitlyn Jenner’s home, causing her to die from multiple blunt force injuries. But before she passed away, she owed a massive amount of money to her friend.
According to exclusive reports from TMZ, Jenner claimed that her former manager was supposed to pay her $439,095.98 in unpaid expenses. The outlet reviewed the legal documents, finding that the payments included credit card charges, cash advances, shopping, and lastly her portion of some shared legal fees.

The documents detailed that the unpaid money allegedly went to, which included spending at e-commerce sites such as Shopify, eBay, 1stdibs, and more. The House of Kardashian actress claims that over $273 thousand was from credit card charges, which were related to purchases on the online retailer sites. And another $133 thousand was in shared “legal fees for lawyers they retained together.”
Furthermore, Jenner claimed that another $16 thousand was from debit card charges, and around $7 thousand in cash advances, which her late friend took out over time. The report stated that Sophia Hutchins had access to Jenner’s cards for work, but personal spending is to be reimbursed, “which she claims didn't happen before Hutchins died.”
In November 2025, she filed a claim, and in March 2026, her late friend’s estate allowed the claim for the amount that Jenner had requested.
Caitlyn Jenner Remains Devastated Over Sophia Hutchins’ Death
While Jenner has made a claim for nearly half a million dollars from her late friend, she has been grief-stricken about her death. During an interview with Fox News (via E! News), the 75-year-old talked about her close friend’s passing away in a tragic accident. She said, “For the last seven weeks, I've been dealing with death, and it's so difficult.”
She talked about the shooting incident at the Minneapolis Annunciation Catholic School, where two students were killed. Jenner remarked, “So when this happened, it really hit me hard. Because here I am dealing with my grief, and I just can't even imagine parents who dropped their kid off at school and, like that father just said, ‘I'll never get a chance to talk to him again.’ That is I just so horrible.”
She continued that she has been dealing with grief and stated that the parents who lost their children have a long road ahead of them to deal with their grief.
