A political consultant recently took a jibe against Donald Trump, saying that even the Antichrist would be smarter than the president.

This comes weeks after Trump sparked criticism for sharing an AI-generated image of himself being portrayed as a Jesus Christ-like figure in a post on his Truth Social account.

Following heavy backlash, the president deleted the post.

At the time, Trump was also involved in a public spat with Pope Leo XIV, who had called out the president over the Iran war.

James Carville Weighs in on Donald Trump

During a recent episode of Politicon’s Politics War Room podcast, political consultant James Carville discussed comparisons of Trump to the Antichrist.

Notably, several conservative figures, who have recently turned critical of the president's policies, called Trump the Antichrist.

Donald Trump's religious adviser Paula White-Cain compares the president to Jesus Christ.

Speaking about the same during the podcast, Carville began by stating that he has "Trump Derangement Syndrome."

Addressing MAGA supporters who criticize him, Carville said that he would not refer to Trump as the Antichrist.

“Because I think the Antichrist would be smarter than him,” political consultant said.

In early April, Trump's religious adviser Paula White-Cain compared the president to Jesus Christ.

She said both were “betrayed and arrested, and falsely accused. It's a familiar pattern that our Lord and Savior showed us. Because of His resurrection, you rose up.”

Trump subsequently posted an AI-generated image of himself in red and white robes, healing a man with divine light radiating from his hand.

Following heavy backlash, he deleted the image.

Clarifying his intentions, Trump addressed reporters on April 14.

“I thought it was me as a doctor,” he said. The president claimed that he was depicted as a Red Cross worker in the image and blamed news outlets for twisting the narrative.

Trump later shared another AI-generated image of himself being embraced by Jesus Christ, in a post on his Truth Social account.

Coming back to the president's Antichrist comparisons, The Wall Street Journal reported that conservative writer Rod Dreher stated he is “not saying Trump is the Antichrist,” but rather is “radiating the spirit of Antichrist, no question.”

Antichrist Comparisons

Speaking about the controversial Truth Social posts by Trump, Vice President JD Vance called the AI-generated image a “joke” during an interview with Fox News.

Former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, however, called out the president over his posts and wrote on X, “It’s more than blasphemy. It’s an Antichrist spirit.”

She claimed that Trump criticized Pope Leo because the pope did not support the war against Iran.

Greene further stated Trump posted the photo “as if he is replacing Jesus.”

During last week's episode of The Tucker Carlson Show, former Trump loyalist Tucker Carlson expressed regret for publicly supporting the 79-year-old in the past and discussed the feud between the president and the Vatican.

“He’s mocking Jesus. He’s making fun of Christianity. The central figure of the religion is being held up for mockery,” Carlson said, adding, “Could this be the Antichrist? Well, who knows? At least that’s my conclusion. Who knows?”
