Apart from his golfing, Rory McIlroy has been drawing attention to his personal life in recent times. Amid reports about strain in his marriage to Erica Stoll, the sportsman has now fueled online speculation about his dynamic with Amanda Balionis after a moment that drew attention online.

According to Nicki Swift, speculations surrounding Rory McIlroy and Amanda Balionis’s alleged affair began in 2024, around the same time when the golfer filed for divorce from his wife, Stoll.

​The development was first reported by the Daily Mail after the duo reportedly engaged in a “flirty” interview in which the sports reporter was not seen wearing her wedding ring.

Then, a picture of the PGA Tour golfer and the reporter went viral in 2025 that allegedly showed them cozying up to each other during an interview in Pebble Beach, California, at the Pebble Beach Golf Links.

​The former world No. 1 had his arms wrapped around Balionis and appeared close in the footage. This might raise some eyebrows, considering that McIlroy is still married to Stoll.
